Tamara is a highly skilled specialist with a unique blend of regulatory and practical perspectives affecting risk management outcomes and risk culture. She spent 15 years at APRA in roles that spanned supervision, policy and risk advisory across banking, insurance and superannuation.
Tamara has many years of supervisory experience with both complex and specialised financial institutions. She has conducted numerous onsite reviews and institutional risk assessments and contributed to many risk assessments. She also led a number of key initiatives on strengthening both APRA’s supervision and risk rating methodologies.
Tamara was a founding member of APRA’s Governance, Culture & Remuneration team and was central in the development of approaches to assess risk culture in the context of supervision, assessing behaviour as a driver of risk outcomes and the impact on business outcomes. Tamara has also worked with international regulators to regularly exchange and develop approaches to supervising culture in global financial institutions.
